As a young vibrant 20 year old I never thought those ideas of increased calcium intake was going to benefit me.  Humbug is all I thought.  Then at age 35 I am seeing how hard it is for my nails to stay long and firm.  I longed for the firm, thick nails I’ve had in my youth.

Opuntia Ficus Indica-Nopal Fruit from the Cactus plant- The cactus fruit also known as the prickly pear  is familiar to me as I use Trivita’s Nopalea juice to help with pain and inflammation, but it’s not strong enough for my allergy problems and it costs a good bit of money to up keep as you have to do a loading phase of at least 4 to 6 oz which leaves you with practially nothing left by middle of the month.

Xylitol-What in the world is xylitol?  I looked this ingredient up, the word looked dangerous, but after reading what it does I only found incidences on the internet that said it was dangerous to dogs.  Not sure why, just as they say chocolate is also bad for dogs as  well.  Reports say that this is good for cavities and good for your teeth.  Awesome.  A lollipop or sucker that does not give you cavities, i should give it to my children.  In fact, they say children can have these.

Hoodia-I thought hoodia was taken off the market.  Maybe it was a brand of hoodia that wasn’t good.  Either way, this seems to be good they say for appetite suppresant.  Believe me, I’ve tried many appetite supressants like It Works and Shaklee, but I’ll see if Hoodia suppressants work for me.  I am still hungry when I smell something I can’t help myself but eat it like I did last night.

Recommended Doses of Slenderpop lollipops:  The Sisel company recommends you suck one lollipop twice a day before a meal.  i would choose the meals with the most fat in them.  Or, dinner since that is the one you will be going to sleep soon so you want it to grab those fats in your meal and extract them.

Drink a glass of water before sucking on the lollipop and a glass after the lollipop after you suck on it.  What?  that sounds like the water will make me too full to eat more.

The bottom line is, if it makes you sick then don’t use it anymore.  We can argue all day about the natural occuring glutamates and the differences of heat causing it to turn into some other sickening cousin we should just not eat those things that will cause us so much pain.  Some other names found on packaging that is in our foods that we should avoid if we want to avoid allergies and allergic reactions are also, hydrolyzed vegetable protein.

My husband and I have been monitoring, lately, what we’ve been eating.  Myself because I suffer from extreme cases of hives and allergies and my husband because he is now experiencing rapid heartbeats.

We just found out tonite that we were eating some tegu.  A pupu or type of side dish made of cuttle fish, drenched in a wonderful seasoning.  After my husband ate he realized that his heartrate began speeding up do 120 beats per minute.  Upon further thought we looked at the label on the tegu cuttlefish we were eating and the ingredient listed there was the MSG or monsodium glutamate.

The other night while have a saimin dinner and more cuttlefish my husband wondered why he was getting such a bad reaction again for his rapid heartrates.  After looking into the tegu and MSG he asked me to look on the packaging for saimin to read what was there and sure enough “sodium is first and there in the soup base listed more sodium and MSG”

We live in Hawaii and we love saimin.  So much so that we eat that thing raw and sprinkle all these packets of MSG and sodium onto our food and slowly killing ourselves.  No wonder my children have allergies and my daughter suffers from eczema, we don’t eat healthy foods.

Now I know the meaning of the saying, “who’s your farmer?”  or it could just as well be “who’s your manufacturer?”  Everything we eat, everything all around us is intoxicating us.  More and more people are suffering from acid reflux, debilitating diseases and heart diseases and we wonder what the problem is.  Not once does a Dr. tell us how to change our lifestyle.

My husband’s Dr. just prescribes him heart medications and say let’s see if this will help and then exercise.   Exercise seems to be the common theme amongst Dr’s.  They only want to tell us to exercise but rarely takes the opportunity to tell us to stop eating foods with MSG or autolyzed yeast extract in them.

So, what is the underlying problem of your acid reflux or mine for that reason?  Now I know, better than I did before that your stomach has a hard time digesting foods that are tough, like meats and processed foods.  A friend of mine had the same hives attack and she cannot eat processed foods like, balogna, canned tuna or vienna sausage and the like, bacon all those stuff in the canned and frozen isles.  Aaahhh?  What?  Those are the kinds of foods that take up at least 90% of my diet.

So, what should I eat instead?  Of course, we know the answer to this, but how easy is it for us to make that change.  More Greens, that are grown locally of course and stay away from meats that the stomach has to work extra hard to digest.  (But I love my meats and processed food they are so yummy).

Lately, my hives have not been going away with Zantac and loratadine alone. So, I’ve also added moringa to my diet as I found it acts as a wonderful ph buffer or balancer.  We’ll see how that goes.  I’ll update you all on that in a later post.  Until then, happy shopping.  stay away from the canned and frozen isles and go fresh.  Buy local.

I reach out to people and I can’t really move my hands. I am calling and no one hears.  In the day, when I am really awake I have a hard time doing anything productive because I want to rest.  Has anyone tried using a real product that actually makes you feel really good and less fatigued?

Since I was young child I’ve always had allergies to dust mites, perfumes, and any product that had chemicals like Tide and Cheer laundry detergent oh, and some foods.  I would get hay fever and hives (rash or bumps on my skin).  As a teenageer I would wear a turtle neck, long sleeve shirt just to hide my skin filled with hives. 

There was a period in my life, during my early 20′s that these allergies went away.  Then, as I got older the allergy medications I tried had no effect on keeping the allergies away.  I tried everything from zyrtec to claritin to old fashioned Benadryl (not my favorite), and would get no relief, just feelings of drowsiness.  So, now I’m drowsy and itchy.

So, I finally went to the allergy specialist.  He tried various medications with me for over 2 years and finally he said you have an acid reflux problem.  The inner linings of my stomach were the cause of me getting allergic to foods and other things wearing down on my auto-immune system.  So, he prescribed me zantac and claritin and showed me on my way.

I look back on that consultation and realize that the Dr. did not really help my situation.  He did not have time to explain to me the causes of my acidic stomach neither did he tell me what I can do to avoid this problem and what types of habits I should change to get my life off of medication.

Imagine this, if every Dr. had a cure for our problems there would be no need for us to see them anymore so less Dr.’s, less pills means less clients and less money to be made.  They keep us bound in these never ending circles of pain and grief so that we can continue to rely on them to keep us healthy.

So, I decided to research on the internet what I should do to get rid of my acidic stomach since this can lead to many other auto-immune diseases and I’m only 36.  My system can shut down and by the time I reach 40 my whole system would be  a mess.

I can take moringa now and not have that heavy feeling of acid bubbles coming up my throat making me want to throw up.  For one week, I did not have to take my zantac pills, but now, I think something else is causing my hives.

I live in Hawaii and I think it might be…. Radiation from Japan?? In Hawaii??  So, I am on a mission to find something to heal me from that agonizing welts all over my body, it just might be radiation.  I ordered some seaweed formula, since I hate to eat raw seaweed and something I can swollow instead of chew.  I’ll let you all know how that goes.

How can you treat childhood eczema and psoriasis without using medication and medicated creams?  There is no one definite solution as each child is different.  But, this is something I have been doing that works.
What types of natural products did not work to solve my child’s eczema/psoriasis problem?
melaleuca or tea tree oil =has not given us positive results.  It is very harsh on the scalp and does not provided the needed oils to nourish her dry, itchy scalp.  We also tried using it in a diluted form such as shampoo, and also used it in organic shampoos with no luck
ACV or Apple Cider Vinegar treatments as suggested by many on the internet.  Nope, no positive results there for eczema.
Aveeno oatmeal soap=nope does not help her at all as well.
Some people may have great results with the above mentioned, but, we have not
What does work for childhood eczema and psoriasis?
Coconut oil, pure and simple as that.  Yes, why did I not try this earlier on my daughter’s psoriasis.  I purchased some pure virgin coconut oil and dab it on her scalp them massage the oils into her scalp.  This stays on all day.  She washes her hair at night, although the oil is still in her hair this has been a positive for us.

Pure Henna – Although it is not recommended that children use henna on their scalp, Henna is something that has been helpful for my scalp and I knew it wouldn’t be harmful for my child.  Be sure to check with your Dr. before using henna on your child.  I do not recommend this, but it has made my daughter’s hair beautiful and scalp healthy I am going to do this once every two months.  I would rather her get something natural than harmful medication that Dr.’s will probably prescribe for her instead.
