The benefit of coconut oil is unanimous. Many people have been finding coconut oil cures for ailments like acid reflux, GERD, thyroid problems and similar.
People are looking for answers to their health problems with the use of virgin organic coconut oil products. So, where can you buy the oil? There are an abundance of internet shops selling them cold compressed, pure, organic, lots of choices. I would recommend reading reviews about brands. You can never trust all companies. Check to see if they sell it in plastic or bottles.
Apparently some people have claimed to drink about 3 tbsp a day of coconut oil, mixing it in with their food, putting it on their bread instead of butter, cooking with it and realize that it has been helping them lose weight and get rid of their stomach problems.
I have not personally tried coconut oil, but I drink coconut milk once in a while. I am going to start drinking the milk as I have acid reflux problem and see if the milk itself will be beneficial.
How do they make coconut oil? I really haven’t tried it. I live in Hawaii, what the heck. I should know how to do this stuff as coconuts are abundant where I live. Whatever, to myself. So, I checked out the internet and found a couple videos. Most videos of course are commercial videos for companies. One made it by hand and unrefined, which is better, no additives or bleaching. Why are companies bleaching this stuff anyway? It is naturally white, duhh!
Anyway, they crack open the coconut after it is husked. Why husk them? I have no idea. What a waste of energy. My option would be to just cut the tip of the coconut, either side, doesn’t matter.
Then drain the coconut water into a pot through a strainer you can drink that or you can boil the water to make it thicker, add some sweet potato and honey and make yourself a healthy dessert.
Now, after draining the coconut water you end up with the coconut meat inside your coconut. Cut that coconut in half and you can either grind the meat out with a grinder (food grade kine of course) or spoon it out and put it into a processor to shred it a little more.
Put that ground up meat into a juicer, if you have one, and it will press out the oils from the meat for you and shred into finer pieces where you can use for cooking too.
There are various methods for making your own coconut oil like cold compressed as in cultural practices or modern day juicing equipment. Either way, the oil is squeezed from the coconut meat. If you can make your own, that is the healthier oil for yourself. If not, find a company that does not refine their oils.
